Playwright
As an interview based playwright, I see writing as the artistic tissue that translates an idea to an artistic form. I am motivated not only within the language myself and others write but the spaces left in between the lines for other artists to take their liberties.
All About Me
I started to develop my voice as a creative writer at the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts back in 2013. There I discovered that I develop pieces when I notice the struggle or turmoil of those around me. Back then, the first piece I had developed was centered around the teen angst I had witnessed in conjunction with the romanticization of self harm and suicide attributed to what some people would call the peak of tumblr era for teens.

From there, I wrote political poetry in response to events, I would find my footing through discussion and interview based script development through my exposure to the musical development of Working based on Studs Turkel's interviews and Tectonic's The Laramie Project. I would marry the two once I was able to work with Cornerstone Theater Company through the California Repertory Company during the global pandemic in Spring of 2021.

Since then my writing has been showcased in American Distortion both virtually and onstage at California Repertory Company's Studio Theater. Along with Pub-atory: Drink to Remember at the Rufus and Margot Rose Barn Theater and Figment Mime Troupe: A Love Story at the Edith Oliver Theater as part of the National Theater Institute.

My writing lends itself to to devising as it is poetic in nature. I write with larger broad strokes based on the minute details offered by the discussions I have in order to leave room for my ensemble to paint. I am currently working on projects centered around immersive theater experiences and the development of AI. I am intrigued by theatrical horror and the marriage of absurdism and reality as real world continues to blur the line between the two.
